How do we impact on our enviroment and what can we do to reduce the impact?
The picture of the turtle above is an impact of our waste in the pacific ocean and by doing this it could poison plankton wich then would effect the whole food chain. The great pacific garbage patch is a collection of marine debris in the north Pacific Ocean. Marine debris is litter that ends up in oceans, seas and other large bodies of water. The Great Pacific Garbage Patch, also known as the Pacific trash vortex, spans waters from the west of North America to Japan. These areas of spinning debris are linked together by the North Pacific Subtropical Convergence Zone, located a few hundred kilometers north of Hawaii. The North Pacific Subtropical Gyre is created by the interaction of the California, North Equatorial, Kuroshiro, and North Pacific currents. These four currents move in a clockwise direction around an area of 20 million square kilometers (7.7 million square miles).
We could reduce this by recycling the plastic we own instead of just throwing it away on the streets. We need to control how much of our rubbish ends up in the ocean and rivers.
